As I explain in the video, Crossrail is coming to our borough and we are very excited about that and it will open by the end of 2019.
We have five Crossrail stations in the borough: Acton Mainline, Ealing Broadway, West Ealing, Hanwell and Southall.
There have been some delays with the building of new stations and I’m very grateful to residents for lobbying Network Rail and Crossrail to make sure that we get them delivered.
I have also been having high level meetings with Network Rail, Crossrail, the Mayor, the Deputy Mayor and the GLA to make sure we do get the stations that we have been promised.
They were meant to be finished by 2016 but there have been questions about the funding and the specifications and designs, and also about when they would be complete.
Now, I’ve been given reassurances that the funding is all in place, that they will be completed by the end of 2019 to the specifications and designs that have already been agreed.
We are also going to have fully accessible stations with lifts, something we have be campaigning for, for many years.
Although it has at times been frustrating we will get our stations when Crossrail opens at the end of 2019 and I just want to give residents that assurance that we will get our stations and Crossrail will be making us the best connected borough in the whole of London when it opens.
