Seasons of Ealing montage of winners

Could you picture being a winner like these were?

If you like taking photos and fancy entering a picture to our fourth Seasons of Ealing competition, you could be in with a chance of being a winner like the three previous winners you can see here.

This time around it is the summer contest. The winners will again be chosen by the public in a vote, once a shortlist is chosen by our panel. The winner (and perhaps the runner-up) will be included in an edition of Around Ealing magazine and also shown-off online.

Following on from the great images we received for our autumn, winter and spring competitions (and you can still view the shortlisted entries for each of these in our gallery), the idea is for you to enter your favourite snaps of anything of a summertime flavour – preferably from this year. It could be a streetscape, a landscape, a skyline, a local festival, wildlife, your family playing; whatever takes your eye and lifts your spirits. The key is that it has to have been taken in our borough – and, must have been taken by you.

HOW DO I ENTER?

If you fancy getting involved, the spring Seasons of Ealing competition is now open. It will close on Tuesday, 31 July 2018 at 11.59pm. You should email your photo to ealingpics@gmail.com by this closing deadline for your entry/entries to be included.

For your photo to be considered, you must:

  1. Put Seasons of Ealing in the subject line of the email
  2. Include your name, postal address and phone number
  3. Include a brief description of what the photo is of, when you took it and where you took it
  4. State that the photo was taken by you, and that you also have permission of any people whose faces appear in the photo to enter the photo into the Seasons of Ealing competition
  5. Make sure the image is of a high enough resolution to be reproduced online and in print (i.e. poor quality images will not be considered).
WHAT HAPPENS THEN?

After the deadline for entries, a panel will judge the entries and select a shortlist. These shortlisted photos will be showcased here, on a gallery at EalingNewsExtra.co.uk – and then everyone can get involved because the winner will be selected via a public poll we will run at Facebook.com/EalingLondon

After the poll has closed, the winning photo will be announced.

Other things to know

By entering the competition you are agreeing for your photo to be reproduced in Around Ealing magazine, EalingNewsExtra.co.uk website, and the council’s social media channels at any time. No remuneration will be possible but you will be named as the photographer if it is used.

We will not, unfortunately, be able to reply to everyone who has entered the competition.

If any image is found not to have been taken in the borough, or to have broken any of the other conditions outlined above, the photo will be disqualified from the competition.
