Children’s services in Ealing are providing ‘a nurturing environment which meets children and carers’ emotional needs’, a recent Ofsted inspection has confirmed.

The inspection, which evaluated the quality services for children in care, described the council as ‘extremely ambitious’ and providing exceptional care and support to looked after children.

Inspectors assessed a number of different aspects of children’s services, including endorsement of the Brighter Futures strategy, which aims to intervene before there is the need for formal care, as well as the provision to reunify children with their families. They also measured progress since the last inspection in 2016, when services were judged to be good.

Inspectors spoke to front line workers and examined a number of cases, reviewing the quality of support given to children, young people, their families and carers. They also looked at the effectiveness of supervision and support for social workers.
