EHM Sunset Mile

Sunset race to open the half marathon weekend

A new, one-off ‘sunset’ event will take place later this month – the same weekend (and in the same location) as the award-winning Ealing Half Marathon and Ealing Mini Mile.

The EHM Sunset Mile will take place on Friday 27 September, at 7pm, in Lammas Park, Ealing. Participants will pass under the famous Ealing Half Marathon finish gantry two days before the Ealing Half Marathon finishers do the same thing.

This new event is being organised by EHM Legacy, the community arm of
Ealing Half Marathon, and introduces a full weekend of activity in Lammas Park. It will be followed by the Ealing Mini Mile on Saturday (28 September) and then then Ealing Half Marathon itself on Sunday (29 September).

EHM Legacy also organises the monthly Ealing Mile event in Lammas Park.

Rachel Job, EHM Legacy’s events and project co-ordinator, said: “The huge growth of our regular Ealing Mile and our recent Ealing Summer Mile Series has demonstrated how accessible and popular the mile distance is, so we’re really pleased we can provide another opportunity for all abilities to take part in an event that will kick-off the fantastic Ealing Half Marathon weekend.”

The new EHM Sunset Mile is an official UK Athletics licensed race with an accurately measured mile course. Entries are now open.

More about the Ealing Mile

The Ealing Mile takes place every month and is a great way to Get Moving in your lunch hour, regardless of your fitness levels.

It takes place on the first Friday of each month at 12.30pm at Lammas Park in Ealing and attracts serious runners and casual joggers alike. And everyone is welcome.

It is a fully licensed and officially measured UK Athletics (UKA) course. This means that race times are officially recorded and updated to UKA’s website called Power of 10 and the results feature in the Run Britain’s UK Road Rankings – important for any serious runners keen to take part.

But it is not just for keen runners. In fact, it was originally set up as a short, easy distance to get people active and outdoors at lunchtime and enjoy the park.
