Local businesses are encouraged to get involved with the COP26 (Conference of the Parties) Roadshow this week (Wednesday 9 June 2021) and find out how they can help reduce emissions in a sustainable way.

The roadshow is virtually touring seven West London boroughs to offer local businesses guidance on achieving future success in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. It covers a range of topics, including reducing your businesses waste energy and cutting your carbon emissions, which contributes to the climate emergency.

It will drop into Ealing between 3.30pm and 5.00pm on Wednesday, 9 June and it is free to register.

Local businesses can play a vital role in tackling climate change alongside the council as it aims achieve the ambitious aim of becoming carbon neutral as a borough by 2030.

It involves cutting the council’s and the borough’s emissions to reach net zero – in other words reducing and offsetting our production of harmful gases to ensure we do not have a negative effect on the climate.

The council’s newly elected cabinet has reiterated its commitment to tackling the climate crisis through greening, improving air quality and ensuring the borough we build is sustainable.

Councillor Deirdre Costigan, cabinet member for climate action, who will be speaking at the roadshow, said: “We are more committed than ever to tackling the climate emergency and reaching our goal of net carbon neutral by 2030.

“We know that people in Ealing want a cleaner, greener borough and I encourage local businesses to get involved with the COP26 roadshow in Ealing this week as we work together with people to tackle the climate crisis.”

Run by West London Business in partnership with Ealing Council, the roadshow takes place ahead of COP26 (Conference of the Parties), an international conference on the climate emergency taking place in the coming weeks.
