There is more than a feast for the eyes this bank holiday weekend, with a new temporary al fresco dining area set to satisfy appetites in the heart of Ealing Broadway.
From Thursday, 26 August to Monday, 30 August, visitors will be able to dine al fresco on the triangle, next to the pop-up cinema, accessing a tailored menu of hand-picked takeaway options from some of Ealing’s best loved eateries.
Diners will also be treated to maths puzzles and prizes from the Mathnasium mascot on the afternoons of Saturday 28th, and Sunday 29th August.
The al fresco area is open to those wanting to grab a pre- or post-film meal as well as those keen to soak-up the atmosphere and enjoy the end of summer in Ealing.
Provided by Ealing’s High Street Task Force and local partner Make It Ealing, the Ealing al fresco area is part of a series of Love Ealing, Love Local activities to celebrate and bring life back to Ealing’s high streets.

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for decent living incomes, said: “Ealing Broadway is home many great cafes, restaurants and independent business from old favourites that have weathered the pandemic to budding new bistros ready to make their mark.
The Ealing al fresco area is a great way to get a flavour of what’s on offer in the area. With activities set to entertain the young and old, why not come out to Ealing Green and enjoy the last of the longer days and warmer evenings and share a meal with friends and family.”
Several local businesses will also be celebrating the spirit of the silver screen and the area’s film heritage. For example, Mary’s Living and Giving shop will be decorating their windows to illustrate Hollywood red carpet glamour, Oxfam bookshop will featuring displays of film-related titles, and For Art’s Sake will be displaying period posters and art-work.
Helping the high streets
Ealing’s High Streets Task Force is made up of representatives from local businesses, Ealing’s three business improvement districts and Ealing Council. Formed last year, the group has been working behind the scenes to support our high streets and Ealing’s recovery from the pandemic.

The free events are provided thanks to funding Ealing’s High Streets Task Force has received from the Reopening High Streets Safely Fund and the Welcome Back Fund from the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
