‘Young people one of the hardest hit groups’
Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, the council’s cabinet member for decent living incomes, said: “Young people have been one of the hardest hit groups during this pandemic, with getting into your first job more difficult than ever before. That’s why organising this virtual careers fair aimed at supporting young people is so important.
“As outlined in our Plan for Good Jobs, a key priority for Ealing Council is to support young residents into training and employment. We’ve hosted training workshops and courses, created more than 300 Kickstart placements and gone above and beyond on our promise to create 750 apprenticeships for people in Ealing.
“We’re adding more sessions in the run up to the event, so please keep checking the website.
“By signing up to this event today, you can expect the help and support that are needed to get into employment or apprenticeship.”
Resources
As part of the careers fair, you will also get the chance to access exclusive resources from employers that are unable to join the live workshops, such as British Airways and Let’s Go Southall, to name a few.
In the meantime, if you have any questions or just want to say get involved, head to the @WorkEaling Twitter account.
