Get involved with Ealing’s youth plan

There is still time for people who live and work in Ealing to have their say on how youth services should be run in the borough.

The consultation runs until Wednesday, 2 March.

Ealing Council particularly wants to hear from young people and better understand how they would like to be involved in planning and designing the services.

The council is rethinking its youth services and the draft youth plan sets out proposals for what activities should be provided, who should run them and where in the borough they need to be. It is also asking how services should be delivered in Southall while a new, permanent site for the Youth Adult Centre (YAC) is identified.

A public meeting when people can find out more is being held on Wednesday, 23 February at the YAC. Attendees will be given an overview of the council’s proposed approach and be able to put their questions directly to councillors and council staff.

Doors open at 5.45pm. The event starts at 6.30pm. Tickets can be booked on Eventbrite.

‘We know the difference that our youth services make’

Councillor Kamaljit Kaur Nagpal, the council’s cabinet member for a fairer start, said: “Young people’s voices matter and we want to hear from as many as possible before the consultation closes on 2 March.

“We know the difference that our youth services make to local children and young adults, and we want to carry on this success in Southall with the creation of a new YAC. We also want to hear what people think about our wider services across the borough.

“If you can, please come along to our event on the 23rd. I’m looking forward to meeting you.”
