A trail of 23 artworks by international and local artists has been unveiled in Acton, as part of the London Open House Festival.

Featured works include internationally renowned street artists Findac and Remi Rough, local artists ATM, David Samuel and Carrie Reichardt, a children’s art trail by A.P.P.L.E in Acton Park, and a metal sculpture of the late Jamal Edwards by Matt Small.

Many of the pieces have been commissioned by grassroots community organisations like Artification, Acton Unframed and JG Contemporary gallery. Acton is home to a growing number of public murals and works of art that contribute to the character of the area.

Details of the trail and more information on the artists can be found on Empowering Local in Acton W3. Acton Notebook is an asset of W3 Hive CIC, a not-for-profit community interest company. All profits are reinvested into initiatives that help drive positive change in our neighbourhood. Their work started in 2018, when they began to develop local networks, with the aim of supporting local businesses and improve the area.

The trail can be toured at any time using the map and can be started at any of the points.

Councillor Jasbir Anand, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for thriving communities, said: “From Pitzhanger Gallery to the Questors Theatre, Ealing has a growing reputation for our thriving arts and culture scene. The mural is another example of how art can also contribute to community regeneration and renewal.”

The organisers are also planning three free guided walking tours, which will be promoted via the council’s website and social media channels.

The trail was included in this year’s the London Open House Festival, an annual two-week celebration of housing, architecture and neighbourhoods across all 33 London boroughs. With hundreds of thousands of visitors, it is the most popular event of its kind in the world.
