The much-loved Ealing Tree Festival returns for a second year on Saturday, 17 June 2023 from 11am to 4pm at Southall Park.
Ealing Council is again teaming up with the environmental charity Trees for Cities to celebrate all things trees and inspire the community to plant and enjoy them.
Trees create a rich habitat to support urban wildlife and help to reduce the impacts of climate change. What a better way to appreciate them than a festival of trees.
Take part in a range of fun activities for children and adults alike and find out about the many types of trees found in Ealing. Join us for:
- Tree walks - learn about urban trees and their benefits
- Storytelling
- Art
- Wildlife discovery
- Live music
- Craft workshops and much more.
The festival is free and open to people of all ages. There is no need to book, simply pop in on the day with your family, friends and neighbours.
Councillor Deirdre Costigan, cabinet member for climate action said: “Trees play such an important role in our plans to re-grow and re-wild Ealing, making it a great place for families, whilst also improving biodiversity and the quality of the air we breathe.
“We have been working with Trees for Cities as part of our pledge to plant 50,000 trees all over Ealing, as we take concrete steps to tackle the climate emergency and to purify our air.
“Ealing Tree Festival returns this year with a wonderful educational programme for people of all ages. Save the date and pop down to Southall Park on 17 June to join in the fun.”
Inspiring love for trees at an early age
Encouraging tree appreciation, planting and protecting start at an early age.
Tudor Primary School, Three Bridges Primary School and Willow Tree Primary School are joining three days of workshops packed with fun, tree-themed educational and practical activities at Southall Park on 13 June, 14 June and 15 June 10am-11.30am and 1pm-2.30pm.
Designed for 7 and 14 year old students, the workshops focus on the value of trees, reconnecting young residents to nature and increasing their awareness of the importance of planting and protecting them.
