A guided bike ride, live music, and the chance to win a bike and other prizes will be part of a 2-day celebration taking place on Friday and Saturday to mark the completion of the first part of active travel improvements in Northolt.
The improvements at Northolt Village Green and in Kensington Road are part of the Visions for Northolt regeneration project. The enhancements completed so far are part of £1.3million of highways work due to be completed in spring 2025 to make active travel, such as walking, cycling, scooting and jogging easier in Northolt.
Residents previously told Ealing Council that addressing traffic, road safety and pollution in the area are a priority and highlighted poor connectivity and the need for improved pedestrian and cycle routes.
Friday will celebrate Northolt Village Green’s new look, which includes:
- resurfaced footpaths and paving
- new seating and lighting
- cycle parking
- a new crossing from the Green to the shopping parade on Ealing Road
- plants
