As the winter months draw near, and we eagerly await the festive period, it can only mean one thing…the launch of Ealing Council’s annual Christmas card competition.
Children across the borough are invited to design a Christmas card that will be used by the Leader of the council, Peter Mason, alongside cabinet members and senior council officers, to send out Christmas greetings.
The Christmas card competition is a great opportunity for young people to showcase their artistic skills.
Winners’ artwork will be reproduced for official cards and may also be used during the festive period on the council’s social media channels. It may also be featured in the winter edition of Around Ealing magazine.
Christmas in the community
This year’s theme is ‘Christmas in the Community’, and entrants are encouraged to get creative by drawing, colouring, or painting their design.
Whether you want to feature the borough’s beautiful parks, local landmarks, or a scene of family, friends, and pets, there’s plenty of room for your imagination to shine.
The competition is open to children aged 18 and under who attend a school in the borough.
Councillor Mason said: “Christmas is primarily a time for Christians to celebrate the birth of Christ, however it is also a time for people of all faiths and none to come together to feel festive.
“Judging the Christmas card competition is always one of the highlights of the year for me. With so many talented young artists in the borough, it’s never an easy task to choose a winner.
“But seeing the creativity and local pride in the designs is truly rewarding. It brings me great joy to send out cards that reflect the borough’s vibrant community, and I’m sure they will bring smiles to everyone who receives them.”
