Ealing Council is reviewing its Early Help services to provide the best possible support for children, young people and their families.
There are families in the borough who could benefit from Early Help services but aren’t accessing them. This means problems are being escalated and children are entering the social care system when it could have been avoided.
This review will look at ways to make services more accessible, flexible and tailored to families’ needs. It will also look at how children’s centres are organised and ways to return key centres into vibrant hubs, providing a more complete service.
Ultimately, it is about making sure local families can access the right services, at the right time, in the right place.
The aim of the review is to:
- design a service around families’ needs
- support families as early as possible
- make sure all 7 towns offer the same level of support, so every family can access the help they need
The council wants to understand what’s working well and what needs to be improved.
Residents are being encouraged to share their views on how Early Help services can meet the needs of all families in the borough.
What happens next?
A 12-week consultation will start in early February, giving everyone the chance to have their say and shape the future of Early Help services. Keep an eye on this website and the council’s social media to find out when, and how, you can take part. You can also sign up to receive weekly Around Ealing Extra news emails from the council.
