Tribeca fitness studio in Ealing

Why New York is a fit for Ealing

We continue our look at new businesses in Ealing with group fitness studio Tribeca in the centre of the town. Inspired by how things are done in New York, it is run on a pay-per-class basis.

As you will see in the video above, there is a stylish Manhattan theme and you will not be lost for ways of getting, or staying, fit. But why in Ealing?

Co-founder Hayley Balls, who is also on Tribeca’s large roster of instructors, told us: “Ealing is fantastic. When we were searching for locations, Ealing was one of the places we thought of. It’s got so many people living here, and of the right demographic, and we found a site which is two minutes from the station.

“One of the things we noticed was there is a real sense of community in Ealing and everyone has been so welcoming, so that was part of the decision as well. The other great thing about Ealing is there is a large population of students, and we are perfect for them with our pay-per-class model.”

From New York to new Ealing?

“We are really looking forward to Crossrail coming in,” said Hayley. “The commute into the centre of London halving is fantastic. We are going to be so close to the heart of the action, just 12 minutes away. Ealing will be even more accessible and even more of a great place for commuters. It’s getting busier already and you can see a lot of exciting things happening – with housing going up and new shops and restaurants opening.”

Manager Andy Williams added: “The council has been extremely supportive and helpful in terms of getting the things done you need to do behind the scenes just to get the doors open and getting the place open.

“The amount of well-wishing and encouragement we’ve received from the community as a whole has been amazing. It’s been really positive. I’ve never worked in a community that has been so supportive when they hear what you are doing.”

With more than 80 sessions to choose from per week, Tribeca has seemingly already made a big impression on its customers.

Hayley said: “Whether you want to do a yoga or pilates class, a spinning class, or whether you want to dance or pump weights – you can do all that here. There are no memberships, and no monthly fees. You just pay for the classes you want to do. You can buy one, you can buy five, you can buy 10 – you can just drop in and see us as whenever you want.”
