Green cash: Calling all small-medium local businesses

Now may be the best time to make your workplace more efficient and save some money at the same time because you could be given up to £15,000 ‘green cash’ to buy energy saving kit – and specialist advice, too. Come along to a workshop to find out more.

The Carbon Trust is offering funding to small and medium sized businesses to help them replace old, power-guzzling equipment, together with expert advice to boost their efficiency and productivity.

BoilerAs part of this scheme the Trust has teamed up with Ealing Council to run a workshop to help explain the Green Business Fund to local companies and work out how best to identify and implement the energy saving opportunities available to them.

You can register for the workshop here. It will take place on Wednesday, 29 March between 9.30am-12noon and is to be held at The CoClub, The Perfume Factory, 140 Wales Farm Road, North Acton W3 6UG. You can view a map of the location.

What will the funding give me?

If you successfully apply for money from the Green Business Fund, the Carbon Trust and Ealing Council will offer you energy saving training, cost saving assessments, implementation advice, and capital support for the installation of energy efficiency equipment. Eligible companies can apply for a contribution of up to 80% of an energy efficiency project or the cost of replacing equipment. This comes within a range of between £750 and a maximum of £15,000 – which includes up to £10,000 from the Trust’s fund, and up to £5,000 from the council’s Smart Business Grant programme.

The money can be used to buy equipment, such as energy efficient lighting, heating, ventilation and air conditioning or energy efficiency controls. But that is not all because the Trust will even help you source the equipment from its trusted list of suppliers.
