Residents in the borough have been stepping up and getting their doses of the vaccine. In total, 311,974 jabs – first or second – have been administered so far.
Surge testing and vaccinations were announced in Ealing because of an increase in the Delta variant of concern from May 24. Residents were asked to take part in extra testing and get their vaccine to help stop the spread of this more transmissible variant and to avoid the need for further lockdown restrictions.
Many local residents have stepped up, with 24,407 first doses and 23,527 second doses of the jab being administered at local vaccines sites, pharmacies, and pop-up vaccination centres.
Residents are still being asked to step up and now even more people can get their vaccine with 25+ age cohort eligible
Council leader Peter Mason said: “I had my vaccine last week and, since then, I’ve felt a lot safer. I know from having it I am less likely to be affected by COVID-19, but also that I am helping to protect those most vulnerable to the virus.
“I have been amazed at the massive turnout of residents to get tested and to get vaccinated. Please continue to get yours done and encourage your loved ones to do the same.”
Say yes to the vaccine
The council is also encouraging everyone who is eligible to get their vaccination as soon as possible.
Vaccination is the best defence against COVID-19, so alongside the NHS, the council is working to make it quicker and easier to get fully protected.
If you are 25 years of age or above you can walk-up to CP House to get your first vaccination, but booking an appointment is advised to guarantee the jab. Find out if you are eligible and book now.
There will also be an opportunity to get a vaccine at a pop-up vaccination centre at The Dominion Centre in Southall on Saturday, 19 June between 9am-6pm.
So, residents who are within the eligible cohort should walk-up and get their test if they have not already.
Future pop-up vaccination centres are currently being arranged with the NHS, and more information on these will be announced soon.
Get tested
We are asking all residents to go out and get a test at one of the many testing facilities in the borough.
Residents that are displaying symptoms should isolate immediately and get a PCR test at one of the following facilities between 8am–8pm:
- Featherstone Terrace car park, Southall
- Gurnell Leisure Centre, Greenford
- Michael Flanders Centre, Acton.
The following sites will offer enhanced testing for residents that are not displaying symptoms and those that want a rapid test that gives results within 30 minutes will be able to get one from the centre after they have completed their PCR test – open between 9am–4pm:

- Greenford Library, 23 Oldfield Lane South, UB6 9LG
- Northolt Library, Church Road, UB5 5AS
- Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road, W5 2HL
- Southall Manor House, The Green, UB2 4BJ.
Since the start of surge testing at the end of May, the council has put on a number of pop-up testing sites across the borough and also worked at specific schools testing pupils, teachers and parents.
