A lasting change in Northolt

As part of Visions for Northolt, an exciting community-led regeneration programme, the council is improving borough’s roads, pavements, open and green spaces and travel routes.

It’s about putting local people in the driving seat of a lasting change in Northolt.

Safer cycling in Kensington Road

Thousands of residents and businesses have already told the council that they want it to reduce congestion and improve road safety, air quality and walking and cycling routes.

Councillor Deirdre Costigan, deputy leader and cabinet member for climate action said: “We are working with Transport for London to create more cycle routes, such as in Kensington Road, where works started last summer.

“We have installed a new two-way segregated cycle path along most of the route, which residents can start using shortly.

“This route will help people cycle away from heavy traffic so they can access jobs, schools and leisure in a healthy and sustainable way.”

Ealing Road and The Village Green improvements

Councillor Deirdre Costigan said: “Improvements at The Village Green will include new street furniture, plants, lighting, footpaths, and upgraded opens spaces and facilities around the clock tower, creating an environment where people want to live and work.

“By May this year, Ealing Road Shopping Parade will be getting improved crossing points, widened footways for better accessibility, new planting beds, street furniture and lighting.”

What’s next

In the next year residents will also be seeing exciting improvements on the White Hart Road Roundabout, Mandeville Road and Church Road.

These improvements are funded by Ealing Council and the UK Government’s Levelling-up Fund.
