Horsenden Farm apples

All the juicy details about this year’s Apple Day

Enjoy apple games in the magic woodlands with apple-themed making at Apple Day 2019. It promises to be a fun day for all the family and even gives you the chance to get involved in squishing juicy apples…and making and sampling apple juice.

The event is being held at Horsenden Farm, on Horsenden Hill, on Saturday, 28 September between 11am and 4pm. It is based on traditional apple day celebrations and will be centred on the apples grown in the farm’s orchard. It follows the success of the Apple Day held last year.

Not just about the juicy stuff

As well as all the activities, visitors can enjoy delicious hot food and home-baked cakes. There will be hand-crafted pizzas from the outdoor pizza oven with a selection of tasty toppings to tempt you. A selection of beers brewed on the farm will be on sale and there will be locally produced cider, too.

There will be lots of goodies on sale in a craft market, all from local suppliers. You will be able to choose from honey, wax products, exquisite paintings on wood, hand-made greetings cards and much more besides.

There will also be face painting for children, you can enjoy live traditional folk music and dance in the courtyard and there will be a raffle, too.

It is all being organised by Friends of Horsenden Hill, the community group that manages the council-owned farm site with the help of Ealing Council park ranger Jon Staples. You can read more about how it has transformed the site in our story.
