Apply now for grants that support local residents

Local voluntary and community groups who deliver projects for residents, are encouraged to apply now for grants for awards of up to £5,000.

Ealing Council is awarding £70,000 in small grants to not-for-profit organisations who are working in the community to support people living in our borough.

The council is particularly keen to reach groups in our community that are typically less likely to turn to it for help and, so, it has made support available for the application process.

Applications for grants can be made from 21 March. The closing date for initial proposals is 11 April at 12noon, with full applications being due by 16 May.

Examples of projects that could benefit the local community might include arts and cultural events, intergenerational schemes, health and self-care support groups, exercise and healthy walks, horticultural activities, environmental work or initiatives to tackle digital exclusion.

Councillor Jasbir Anand, the council’s cabinet member for thriving communities, said: “We are keen to receive applications from hard-to-reach groups in our community that have ideas and initiatives for projects that could transform local people’s lives.

“We know that the pandemic has had a devastating impact on many in our local community. Our small grants programme supports projects that are local, led by local people and organisations, meeting the needs of local people to improve lives, health and wellbeing in our neighbourhoods.

“If you are a community or voluntary group and you have a project idea you would like to develop, or if you need advice on the application process, please get in touch. We want to hear from you.”
