Ealing Half Marathon is in the running to be declared the best half marathon in the UK for the fourth time in five years – and you can help it to victory by voting.
It won the ‘Best Half Marathon in the UK’ award at the national Running Awards in 2014, 2015 and 2016. The race was then runner-up in 2017. It has been shortlisted in the top 12 races in the country again this year.
You can now vote for Ealing Half Marathon in the ‘half marathon 5,000 or more participants’ section – and you can also vote for its Osterley Park 10k in the ‘10K‘ and then ‘national‘ section. Voting closes on Thursday, 15 March. You can place your vote online.
Ealing Half Marathon was started in 2012 to build on the legacy of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London, with the endorsement of local organisations including Ealing Eagles running club and Ealing Council, and it is now a firm fixture in the autumn running calendar. It has become well known for its huge community support and atmosphere, with runners travelling from all over the country, and abroad, to experience it.
The not-for-profit Ealing Half Marathon CIC (community interest company) was set up to organise and manage it. It has continued to grow every year – and it has helped raise more than £1million for charity; as well as doing presentations to school pupils to talk about the benefits of running; and has helped set up running clubs.
