The Ealing Together community hub recently sent out its 1,000th food parcel to local vulnerable and shielding residents.
Watch the video above as Councillor Peter Mason takes us behind the scenes at the Greenford Depot where the community hub is based to see the food parcels being sent out.
If you have received a letter or a text from the NHS advising you to socially shield, and are worried about how you will cope, register for support. The socially shielding group is made up of residents with health conditions that mean they are at high risk of being admitted to hospital if they catch COVID19.
And the Ealing Together partnership is also ready to help. If you are not part of the NHS socially shielding group, but are socially isolating and need support, including single parents and those that live alone, call 020 8825 7170 or ask for support online.
Councillor Mason, who is the council’s cabinet lead for Ealing Together, said: “We’ve come together as a community in the face of this crisis and demonstrated some fantastic solidarity. As friends, as neighbours, as mutual aid groups, as voluntary organisations and a s charities to ensure that everyone who needs support and help, has it.
“So, its a massive thank you from us at the council, but also everybody in the Ealing Together partnership for the work that you are doing on the frontlines.”
