Deadline for primary school admissions

Today (Wednesday 15 January) is the deadline for primary school applications.

Children born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021 will start primary school in the reception class in September this year.

Parents and carers living in the borough have until 11:59pm to submit their application via the online portal. Otherwise, it will be considered a late application.

You can apply for up to 6 primary schools, which must be listed in your order of preference.

How to apply online

To complete an application, you must be the child’s parent or legal guardian and will need to register on the admissions website.

Once you have created your account you will be sent an email with a username and a password.

Make sure you keep those details safe because you might want to view or change your application up until the closing date.

When you submit your application, it will automatically be sent to Ealing Council. Whilst you won’t need to give proof of your address with your application, this will be checked by the admissions team later.

You will then receive an automated email with a unique 16-digit application reference number that will look like this: 307-2025-09-E-123456.

If you do not get an email with a reference number, you have not completed the application process.

You can find the full guide to applying online on the council’s website.

What happens next

Applications received by the deadline on Wednesday 15 January, the applications will be processed.

Then, on the national offer day on 16 April 2025, an offer will be made to all applicants that applied on time.

Late applications will only be considered after the national offer day.

Please note independent (fee paying) schools are not part of co-ordinated admissions, so you will need to apply for them directly.
