Digital choices for business customers

Ealing businesses can manage their business rates bill whenever and wherever they want as it becomes the latest council service to move on to My Account.

My Account is a new customer portal on the council’s website. Creating a new online My Account is quick and easy. Just look for the online key on the front of your most recent business rates bill sent to you in March.

My Account lets customers set up direct debits, switch to paperless billing, update information and upload documents for themselves. It also allows council teams to get a single view of the customer across a range of services and transactions through one system.

Benefits for business

Business customers can also use My Account to:

  • inform the council about properties they are buying, leasing, selling or vacating.
  • search for the rateable value of properties in Ealing
  • nominate agents or representatives giving them access to account information.

Customers can access their business rates account anytime and anywhere when you sign up for My Account. If you are an existing My Account customer for personal use, you will need to register for a new account as an organisation using a different email address.

Can’t find your latest bill? Contact the business rates team on 020 8825 7020 and they will help you to get online.

As well as making it easier for customers, My Account also makes it more efficient for the council, helping it to save money and protect essential services at a time when council budgets are squeezed more than ever.

More services coming online

Councillor Joanna Camadoo-Rothwell, cabinet member for inclusion and community safety, said: “While we continue to respond to the changes that have happened following the outbreak of COVID-19, it’s vital for us to continue to deliver the high quality services for businesses and residents; increasing the number of services available 24-7 online via My Account is playing a big part in being able to do that.

“My Account is part of the two-year digital improvement programme that is making it easier and quicker to transact with the council. Once it’s finished, residents will be able to manage a range of council accounts in one place online and track the progress of all their transactions anytime and from anywhere.

“More council services, such as reporting missed collections, will be moved on to the My Account customer portal later in the year.”

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for finance and leisure, said: “Digital improvements are one of the ways that we are supporting local business during the COVID-19 recovery period. We’re also helping with a range of other support, including rates relief, discretionary business grants and detailed guidance on how to operate within the government’s COVID guidelines.”

“Businesses that want to continue to pay their business rates in the old way can continue to do so, but those who want the 24/7 access, flexibility and control that an online account can bring, can sign up to manage their rates through My Account.

“It’s easy to get started; all customers need is this year’s business rates bill.”

Residents with an Ealing council tax account can also manage their account online via My Account. Sign up using the online key on your last council tax bill and make payments, tell us about changes in circumstances and check your balance.
