The hugely successful and popular free preloved Uniform Shop is back at Ealing Broadway over the Easter holidays to help families find those essential school clothing items ahead of the new term.
Running daily from Saturday 6 April to Saturday 13 April, 10am-4pm, you can pick up to four free items for school. The shop will be open for the whole week, as long as stock lasts, so pop in and find what you need.

In advance of opening, the shopping centre is inviting locals to donate good quality school items:
- the donation box is open now and can be found next to Flying Tiger Copenhagen
- branded and unbranded core uniform items and sportswear are all welcome and this can include footwear and school bags
- please ensure that any donations are good quality and laundered
Councillor Kamaljit Nagpal, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for a fairer start, said: “Despite the media reports, the cost-of-living crisis is not easing for parents. School uniform can be costly even if you have one school-age child, and for families who have more than one, the costs just go up and up.”
“The free school uniform shop was so popular last year, and I thank Ealing Broadway for continuing with organising and hosting this shop – I know that parents, carers, grandparents and others really appreciate the help this provides at this time.”
Andrew Rollings, centre director at Ealing Broadway, said: “The response we had to the Uniform Shop last summer was incredible, with a record number of clothes donated and thousands of families getting involved. It’s brilliant to see the local community coming together and helping those in need of some extra help.
“This is a great initiative to support families while living costs are still high, while simultaneously preventing surplus school clothing from going to landfill. We’ve already received a fantastic number of donations for this Easter’s event, and we look forward to seeing as many families as possible at our pop-up.”

First shop
In summer 2023, Ealing Broadway hosted the free Preloved School Uniform Shop. It was overwhelming to receive the generous donations including brand-new uniforms, school ties and bags. Plus any damaged items were added to the Love Not Landfill clothes bank for recycling. The free uniform shop was open for 10 days, received 10,242 donations with 2,398 parents participating and preventing approximately 2.27 tonnes of clothing going to landfill.
