From mini safaris to art projects, Gunnersbury Park and Museum is the place to be this summer holidays for fun activities and adventures.

With the sun shining (hopefully) and everything in full bloom, summer is a fantastic time to explore nature in the beautiful surroundings of Gunnersbury Park. From unmasking the magic of minibeasts to peering into the processes of pond life, there is so much to discover.

And, inside (and outside) the recently reopened museum, you will find creative arts galore.

Here is what to expect:

Arts Award Explore
Monday 5 – Friday 9 August
10am–4pm
£150 per child for the week, suitable for children aged 7+
Booking required
A five-day project with a professional artist to create an exciting exhibition in Princess Amelia’s Bathhouse. You will have the chance to develop a range of art skills, make new friends and earn your Arts Award Explore at the same time – a nationally recognised qualification. Children must commit to attending all five days of the project and continuing their artwork at home if necessary.

Make & Take: Summer Fun
Tuesdays 6, 13, 20, 27 August
10.30am–3.30pm
Free – no booking required
Drop-in workshops on a different theme each week to make something fun to take home. Children of all ages are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Brilliant Botanicals
Wednesday, 21 August
10am–12.30pm
£15 per child, suitable for children aged 7+
Booking required
Create your own beautiful botanical drawing inspired by plants and flowers in the gardens at Gunnersbury. Led by an expert botanical artist from Kew Gardens, children will be taught skills in drawing and painting botanical specimens and then create their own pieces of art using flowers from Gunnersbury.

Sculptures from Nature
Saturday,24 August
10am–12.30pm
£15 per child, adults go free
Booking required
Can you create your own sculpture using natural objects from the Park? Make a minibeast or a magical creature using found natural objects from the gardens at Gunnersbury and other materials. You can take your sculpture home or add it to the museum’s new menagerie. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Minibeast Safari and Pond Dipping
Friday, 30 August
10am–12.30pm
£10 per child, adults go free
Booking required
Grab your minibeast spotting equipment, head out into the Park and discover the hidden world of insects in this fascinating workshop. Learn more about the many species found here and why these special habitats are so important. Led by knowledgeable Ealing park ranger James Morton. Equipment provided but children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Flora and Pip’s Big Adventure
Friday. 30 August
1.30– 3pm
£5 per child, £3 per additional sibling
Booking required
A fun and interactive outdoor storytelling session. Flora and Pip are lost in Gunnersbury Park and are helped by some very special creatures – explore together the magical micro world of minibeasts and their habitats on this very big adventure. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Gunnersbury is providing a special offer where you can book the Minibeast Safari and Flora and Pip’s Big Adventure together for £12 per child.
