Give your confidence a boost, improve your mental well-being and learn something new by signing up to a free self-defence and safety course for women and girls.
Local training academy, Sev Necati Training, in partnership with the Metropolitan Police and Safer Neighbourhood teams, is running a free 8-week course from Saturday, 4 February. It will teach you and train you with the latest self-protection techniques and tactics as well as the right mindset designed to keep you safe.
The course will run every Saturday, from 4 February 2023 until 25 March 2023 at the Reynolds Sports Centre in Gunnersbury Lane, W3 8EY.
Virgina, an Ealing resident who took part last year, said: “I’ve never done a course like this before and wanted to know what it was about. It was brilliant, very fun yet professional. Every girl and woman should do it.”
There are two sessions available for women and girls over 13 years old. The first session will run between 11.15am to 1.15pm and the second between 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
About the instructor
Sev Necati is the women’s self-defence instructor for the Self-Protection Association (SPA). Her work is supported by organisations such as the Metropolitan Police and Victims Support.
She said: “We’re delighted to be running another two free courses in Ealing. This is a great opportunity for women and girls who want to increase their independence and confidence to take advantage of this offer. The course will provide practical techniques, regardless of their background, age or ability which will include self-defence training and vital knowledge on street safety. At the end of the course participants will feel empowered, more confident and improve in self-worth.”
