Turn your garden waste into high quality compost by signing up for the council’s fortnightly garden waste collection service. Unwanted waste such as cuttings, leaves, twigs and grass is collected from the front of your property – an environmentally friendly way to dispose of your garden waste this spring, saving you a trip to the recycling centre.
Once collected, your cuttings are recycled into high quality compost. The council does not accept garden waste in the normal household food waste and other refuse collection.
Across the borough, more than 13,000 residents are already using the council’s garden waste service including occasional gardeners who also benefit from the service by taking out a joint subscription with neighbours. Subscribers can choose between using green bags or a green wheelie bin.
If you are an existing customer, your current subscription will not automatically renew and the annual payment is required when you sign-up.
Annual subscriptions are £90.40 with concessionary rates of £69.10 available for those aged 65 or over and those on means tested benefits.
