Ealing Blues Festival 2017

Full festivals programme revealed for Ealing Summer

Ealing Summer Festivals has unveiled its full programme of six events for 2018, taking place through the summer months across the borough.

The festivals range from community carnivals to top comedy; and from food and drink events to impressive live music; and they showcase exceptional homegrown and international talent. They take place in some of the borough’s most popular green spaces.

It will all begin on 30 June with Greenford Carnival, followed by Ealing Beer Festival between 11–15 July, and Acton Carnival on 14 July. Then Ealing Comedy Festival will run from 19 July to 27 July, Ealing Blues Festival will run over the weekend of 21–22 July, and the following weekend will see the return of Ealing Jazz Festival (28–29 July). See more details below.

As we reported recently, the jazz festival will include Afrobeat pioneer Tony Allen; while, topping the bill at Ealing Blues Festival will be AC/DC-inspired country-rock aficionados Hayseed Dixie.

The Ealing Summer Festivals celebrate the borough’s rich cultural heritage. Home to more than 75 arts and cultural organisations, Ealing has helped foster the careers of musicians such as The Rolling Stones and Dusty Springfield, as well as comedians and film directors to name but a few.

The series is produced by the Event Umbrella on behalf of Ealing Council.

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, the council’s cabinet member for transport, environment and leisure, said: “This year promises to offer a cornucopia of enticing events across our enviable green spaces.  The anticipation is building for one of the most exciting years yet, with a top-class line up of musicians, comedians and artists.

“Ealing Summer is something to really look forward to, with something for all tastes and ages – so I’d advise everyone to get these dates in your diary.”
