Some of the courses on offer can build your functional skills for the workplace, such as maths and English language (including as a foreign language).

Classes help learners apply English and maths in real life situations through reading, writing, speaking and listening tasks.

One of the current learners Lukasz Klucznik (pictured above and left) enrolled on such a course two years ago.

He said: “The course has been very helpful for me. I have improved my communication skills and am now able to write better emails that are more professional.”

Originally from Poland, Lukasz works as a quartermaster at the London Ambulance service.

“The course has helped me to progress in my job,” he said. “When I first started I was a cleaner, I then went on to an assistant supervisor, then to supervisor and now I am quartermaster. Since I began the course, my company has now asked me to train the other quartermasters.”
