Include Me SEND summer festival – have your say

Young people with additional needs and their families are being asked to have their say to help put together an exciting, inclusive festival event this summer.

Ealing Council’s Include Me steering group would like to find out what young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) want to see included in this year’s New Gen festival and other events.

Include Me is an Ealing initiative to actively promote and ensure the inclusion of children and young people with additional needs in the planning and delivery of services that support them and within the community: through a partnership between, the recently formed Youth Social Network, Ealing Parent Carer Forum, Ealing Services for Children with Additional Needs (ESCAN), and voluntary sector partner organisations.

This Include Me Festival, will be produced in response to consultation with young people with additional needs and their families to ensure it offers the kind of event they would like to attend, participate in, and enjoy. This will be part of the New Gen Festival on 24 July 2024 in Walpole Park.

Councillor Kamaljit Nagpal, cabinet member for a fairer start said: “We really want this event to be the first of many to come, and for it to be exciting, fun and completely inclusive. We want to hear from you – please tell us how to do that and help make this event a real success.”

Tell us what you think

Let us know what you would like to see included in this festival and future Include Me events:

  • What would make it fun?
  • How can we make this exciting for young people with additional needs and their families to participate in, and attend?
  • Do you have a talent or skill you would like to share at the event or future events?
  • Would you like to help plan this and future events?
  • What do you think about other community events?

Please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire to share your views and give feedback.
The consultation is open until the 30 April 2024.
