Awards for Copley W7 redevelopment

More awards for new Ealing estate

Ealing Council’s flagship new estate in Hanwell has recently been recognised with two more national awards, reflecting the innovative, high quality standards the council is setting.

The development of Copley Hanwell W7, which is being built at the old Copley Close estate by the council’s wholly owned subsidiary company Broadway Living, will include 279 new homes and comprehensive refurbishment for 554 existing homes. The homes will count towards the council’s ambitious target of creating 2,500 more genuinely affordable homes by 2022.

The new estate has now picked up four major national awards over the last year:

What House? Awards – Best Starter Home Scheme

The ‘Oscars’ of the housebuilding awards calendar, the What House? Awards recognise the very best new homes in the UK. Judges were impressed by Alton Court for many reasons, including its commitment to providing an affordable first step on the property ladder, excellent design and its detailed, high-quality specification.

Inside Housing Development Awards – Best Partnership

At the Inside Housing Development Awards, Broadway Living was awarded for its exceptional and forward-thinking partnership model, whereby experts from different fields work together to provide excellent homes for residents. This approach was put in place to give the council the skills it needs to build and market private sale and rental properties successfully.

London Evening Standard New Homes Awards – Best First-Time Buyer Home

The London Evening Standard New Homes Awards is one of the biggest competitions in the housebuilding calendar. In a competitive category, Alton Court was awarded the coveted Best First-Time Buyer Home prize after judges found it provided everything a first-time buyer could need – affordability, plenty of space, great design and energy efficiency – without compromising on style or quality.

First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards – Best Showhome

The stylish show apartment at Alton Court – Copley Hanwell W7’s first phase – took home the prize for Best Showhome at the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards. The prize was awarded to the show apartment for giving buyers a realistic depiction of their new home, enabling them to see it at its maximum potential. The stylish apartment, designed by Artspace Interiors, showcases the high-quality specification and contemporary layout of the new homes.

The estate was also shortlisted for other awards, including:

• First Time Buyer Awards – Best First Time Buyer Apartment
• Inside Housing Development Awards – Market Sales Development of the Year

“I love my new flat”

The new homes at Copley have already proved hugely popular with their residents.

Christine Hill moved into her new home on Copley Hanwell W7 in December and is overjoyed with it. “I’ve lived at Copley for 30 years with my son John, and we were some of the first to move into the new Darlington Court. It’s absolutely fantastic – I really love it! It’s finished to such a high standard – oak floors, oaks doors, and a balcony, which I’ve always wanted. We’re so lucky to have this flat.”
