You may have seen the latest Guy Ritchie film, The Gentlemen? But did you know some of it was filmed in our borough? Or that your home could get in on the act and feature on the screen, on TV or in the movies?

Popular television series are filmed in our borough all the time. Notably, Killing Eve – the third series of which was partly filmed locally recently – including Eve’s house, which is in West Ealing.

And new locations – from homes, to warehouses to parks – are needed all the time.

Hit BBC thriller The Capture was broadcast towards the end of last year and plenty of its scenes were filmed in Greenford, Acton, Hanwell and West Ealing. Likewise, much of the second series of Motherland was filmed locally. The main character Julia, played by Anna Maxwell Martin, lives in a house set on a location in Acton.

Indeed, as we reported last year, Brad Pitt and Idris Elba were just two of a galaxy of stars to have filmed movies in Ealing in recent times.

What links all of this together is that the crews connected with the shows and movies have all worked with West London Film Office (WLFO) to set things up.

The WLFO is based at Ealing Council and, every month, handles hundreds of requests ranging from student film-makers through to commercials and TV dramas, right up to Hollywood blockbusters.

In addition to the popularity of the locations on offer in the borough, it has plenty of other attractive pulls to the industry. Acton is home to lots of suppliers, from prop hire to lighting and cameras. And, of course, there is the world-famous Ealing Studios; not to mention LH2, West London Studios and a host of others.
