Another step towards a better North Acton

People using North Acton Underground are benefiting from easier access to the station thanks to a brand new stairway, which is now in use. It features a smooth, even surface on the landings and safe textures on the stairs, is brightly lit at night, and most notably now provides a clear view from the street directly down to the station.

Ealing Council is working with Transport for London (TfL) to transform the site in the heart of the area, which was formerly a petrol station, into the new North Acton Station Square.

The new, improved public space will provide brand new green spaces, safer infrastructure and easier access to the station upon completion next winter.

Last week Cllr Julian Bell, Leader of Ealing Council visited the site to see the progress of the project first-hand. He said: “It’s really positive to see the first phase of this major project for North Acton complete, and the new stairway here providing a safer route for local commuters.

“We remain committed to improving public spaces and encouraging people to walk, cycle or use public transport for journeys wherever possible. A safer more accessible space at North Acton is something that can help residents do just that.”

“This scheme will benefit both residents and commuters and help fulfil the potential of North Acton even further.”

Please email Ealing Council’s highway services team at highwayservices@ealing.gov.uk if you have any further questions about the scheme.
