Pay by Phone to park in Ealing

Parking made easier in Ealing

Finding and paying for a parking space is about to become even easier for those living and working in Ealing.

Ealing Council has confirmed that the mobile parking platform PayByPhone will be taking over the provision of visitor parking sessions currently offered by RingGo from 1 April 2019.

For the first time in Ealing, residents and visitors can choose to receive app or SMS text message reminders, alerting them their parking session is due to expire, completely free of charge. This means that parking in Ealing with the PayByPhone services comes with the same costs as the traditional pay-and-display machines, but with reminders as an added extra.

PayByPhone offers an easier and more convenient alternative to pay-and-display machines for drivers to manage their parking. Payment can be made anywhere, anytime, via the app, online or by phone, without the need for coins.

The extend-from-anywhere feature is now also available to users with an Apple Watch using watchOS4.0, allowing parking to be extended directly from the watch. For those who prefer to use cash, some parking bays will be supported by PayPoint, allowing motorists to pay in any of their authorised stores.

Residents and businesses who currently purchase resident or business visitor permits will also be able to do so using PayByPhone.

Councillor Mik Sabiers, cabinet member for environment and highways said: “We are always looking to make it easier and simpler for those who live and work in Ealing to park across the borough. The services we have secured from PayByPhone will help us do just that. There are a number of improvements including free reminders to drivers, which I’m sure will prove very useful.”

Hannah Fuller, operations director for PayByPhone UK, says: “We are very excited to launch PayByPhone in Ealing. Using PayByPhone means an end to last minute rushing back to the pay-and-display machine as you can simply open the app and add more time to your current parking session.

“We encourage everyone who currently uses cashless parking for their parking sessions and visitor permits to download the PayByPhone app so they are ready to take advantage of the brand-new service on April 1. The registration is very simple and takes less than 30 seconds.”

RingGo will provide parking sessions for the first two weeks (1-14 April 2019) after PayByPhone goes live in Ealing and will be issuing reminders to current customers advising them of the changes.
