Your photos – and donations – needed at Pitzhanger

Have you taken any photos of your life in the lockdowns? Whether clapping for the NHS, queuing socially distanced, volunteering in the community, wearing masks, making rainbow displays, working at home, home schooling, meeting loved ones online, or going on walks for some fresh air; many facets of the pandemic became part of everyday life at various points.

From tomorrow (Friday, 9 April), Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery is looking for your contributions for its new exhibition This is Ealing.

If you live in the borough, Pitzhanger is asking you to submit a photograph that reflects your life and experience in Ealing during the COVID pandemic, whether focusing on people or places or expressing humour or sorrow, creativity or kindness, tragedy or hope.

Pitzhanger will fill the gallery with your photos to reflect this highly personal record of an extraordinary time for this special exhibition, which will take place from 27 May–2 June and will be free to view for Ealing residents.

Photos must be printed and dropped off at Pitzhanger on the following dates: Friday 30 April, Saturday 1, Friday 14 and Sunday 16 May.

You can choose to print your photograph any size from A6 (105mm x 148mm) up to a maximum size of A1 (594mm x 841mm). Find out the full terms and conditions on the Pitzhanger website.

Public appeal for help

Meanwhile, Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery Trust, which runs the site, is asking for your help as it launches a new fundraising appeal #SupportPitzhanger to help the historic gem reopen fully – and stay open.

Following an unprecedented year, it has now lost £660,000 of much-needed commercial income and suspended its vital work with the community. Its aim is to reopen soon with an exciting series of exhibitions, events and learning programmes to inspire and enrich our communities in the wake of this unprecedented year. Your support can help make this happen, ensuring its work has a real and lasting impact.

Times are challenging but, if you can afford it, Pitzhanger is asking residents to consider donating £5 to help ensure Pitzhanger can be kept open and inspire generations to come. Simply text INSPIRE to 70460* to donate £5.

You can also donate online, via the donation page of the Pitzhanger website.

*Texts cost £5 plus one standard rate message and you will be opting in for further digital communication about the Trust’s work and fundraising. If you would like to give £5 but do not wish to receive marketing communications, text INSPIRENOINFO to 70460.
