Young artists across the borough have the opportunity to celebrate the reopening of Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery by designing an eye-catching poster to mark the occasion.
Young people aged 3-16 are being challenged to create a design to encourage children and their families to visit Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery and celebrate its reopening next spring.
Young designers wanting a little inspiration or help creating their poster can come along to the Rickyard in Walpole Park for a poster-making workshop on 4 January 2019 from 2pm- 3 30pm. Alternatively they can create their poster at home.
To enter
- You must be 16 years old or under and have the permission of your parent or guardian to enter.
- Your design should be original, made on white A4 paper and portrait formatted.
- Entries should be sent to: Poster Competition, Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, Mattock Lane, W5 5EQ
- Please include your name, age, your parent or guardian’s name and signature, address, a contact telephone number and an email address. Please note we cannot accept submissions by email.
- The deadline for submissions is Monday, 21 January 2019 by 5pm. Late submissions cannot be accepted.
- Prizes will be awarded to the following age categories: 3-6; 7-11; 12-16.

The reopening of Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery marks the successful completion of a £12 million conservation and restoration project led by Ealing Council, which has guided the building from near-dereliction to a must-visit destination in just a short few years.
Earlier this month it was announced that Pitzhanger will host acclaimed artist Anish Kapoor’s only UK solo show this year, confirming Pitzhanger as one of the top destinations in London for history, heritage and art.
When reopened, Pitzhanger will transport visitors back to something resembling its most famous incarnation as the ‘country home’ of renowned architect, Sir John Soane.
Soane was, and remains, an influential figure in architectural history and the restoration of the Grade I listed manor house will mean it will, as closely as possible, recreate his original vision for it.
Councillor Julian Bell, Leader of Ealing Council said: “Pitzhanger Manor is the crown jewel of Ealing’s heritage. This ambitious restoration project is realising the building’s full historical impact by returning it to Soane’s original vision of a villa in a beautiful landscape.
“We are proud to have initiated and supported this transformational project, which is at the heart of plans to build on our fantastic cultural heritage and ensure Ealing is a great destination for tourists and visitors from near and far.”
