Residents are invited to celebrate their town, make new connections and share thoughts about the things that are important to them as ‘Your Voice, Your Town’ returns to a community venue near you.
A series of events are being held across the borough in May, following an Ealing Council consultation last year that aimed to bring local people into the decisions that are made about the places where they live.
The ‘Your Voice, Your Town’ events will give residents an opportunity to discover what activities are happening in their area and how to get involved. They are a great way to meet new people and share ideas about what else residents want to see happen in their communities, and what part they can play to make it happen.
Councillor Polly Knewstub, Ealing Council’s cabinet member for thriving communities, said: “We had a great response to our initial engagement. This second phase will provide a blueprint for each of our 7 towns and a plan of action about how to encourage local people to be front-and-centre of decisions about where they live.
“We’ve listened to feedback about where, when and how you would like to meet the council. From schools to community centres and places of worship, we’ve listened to where you said it would be easier for people to come together at times that work for them.
“As well as a chance to understand more about plans in your town, these events are a great opportunity to find out about local groups and organisations in your area, as well as meet like-minded people who want to influence what happens in their neighbourhood and make a difference where they live.”
