Local foodies are enjoying fresh ingredients and an exciting menu in stylish and historical surrounds thanks to Soane’s Kitchen, the new restaurant, in Walpole Park.
Already proving a hit with local people in its opening month, Soane’s Kitchen has a range of exciting dishes from seabass and confit tomatoes to bavette steak and bottomless brunches.
The restaurant is operated by Social Pantry, a London-based, independent business, which has a well-earned reputation for social values and locally sourced ingredients.
The restaurant has a kitchen in its garden, meaning that as much produce as possible is being grown on-site for the daily menu – helping Social Pantry build on its reputation for fresh, local ingredients and an environmentally-friendly outlook.
The opening of Soane’s Kitchen is the first milestone of an ambitious and exciting renovation project of the Grade I listed Pitzhanger Manor-House and Gallery – Ealing’s flagship cultural venue. The restoration is supported by Ealing Council, the Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council England and the Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery Trust.
Councillor Julian Bell Leader of Ealing Council said: “I’m delighted to see Soane’s Kitchen open and already proving a hit with residents. It is exciting as this is the first finished element of what is a much bigger and wider project of the renovation of Pitzhanger Manor.
“We’ve been working for a number of years and committed substantial funding to see this really transformational project brought to fruition. When completed the Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery here in Walpole Park will represent a heritage gem in Ealing.”
Social Pantry was set up seven years ago and has built a reputation for a strong social ethos during this time. It also operates Pitzhanger Pantry, the kiosk serving coffee and snacks in Walpole Park.
Alex Head, Social Pantry founder and CEO said: “I am delighted to have opened Soane’s Kitchen – not only will we be welcoming Pitzhanger visitors and Ealing residents to enjoy the space, we’re hoping Soane’s Kitchen will be a destination for Londoners further afield.
“For me, as a business owner, my aim is to be as sustainable as possible whilst ensuring that every meal we deliver is as delicious as the last. I love to provide customers with an enjoyable and creative experience and I will apply these values at both Soane’s Kitchen and Pitzhanger Pantry.”
Pitzhanger Manor is currently closed for restoration and due to reopen to the public in 2019.
Soane’s Kitchen is now open Monday to Saturday 8am-10pm, and Sunday (brunch only) 8am to 4pm in Pitzhanger Manor, Walpole Park, Ealing, London, W5 5EQ.
