If you love taking photos, or are always whipping out your smartphone or camera and snapping away, then try showing off your skills by entering a competition at your local zoo. The best shot will win a great prize.
For the second year in a row, Brent Lodge Park Animal Centre in Hanwell, commonly known as the Bunny Park, is holding a contest for the best photos taken at the zoo.
You can see some of last year’s winning entries here, including the shot above of one of the centre’s peacocks, by Chris Slow.
The competition is open to everyone, of all abilities, with a category for children (under 16 years old) and one for adults.
Your entry can be on a subject of your choosing – animals, people, plants – as long as the shot was taken at the zoo this year.
Once the judges select a winner, the lucky person will get a private tour of the zoo (for them and their family) with the chance to meet many of the animals and feed some of the more charismatic of them, including the meerkats and lemurs. The photos of the winner and the runners-up will also get the chance to be displayed in the grounds.
