Thirsty for some outdoor socialising? Hungry for some new food? You can get stuck into the summer by sampling gourmet grub and a refreshing beer or two as food and drink festivals come to town.
The newest addition to the Ealing Summer Festivals programme, Eat Drink Ealing will take over Ealing Common on 1-2 July and transform it into a culinary paradise. This walking banquet of top-of-the-range and hand-selected gourmet traders will show off fresh produce, cocktails and real ale. There will also be live music on a bandstand and other light entertainment, including children’s play areas. The event is run by the established food festival group, Eat Drink. Tickets cost £3.
Then, just a couple of weeks later, you follow-up this fine food with a drink at an ever-popular event.
Ealing Beer Festival takes place over four days, from 12-15 July, at Walpole Park in Ealing. Run by CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale), it will feature more than 300 varieties of real ale from all over the country, including a vast and delicious selection from innovative microbreweries as well as top quality wines and spirits.
Tickets are £3 to CAMRA members, or £8 for non-members – including a glass to enjoy your drink in; you can get a £3 refund if you return your glass intact when you leave.
