Ealing Council’s adult learning team, Learn Ealing, has released a new series of courses and workshops to help you upskill, reskill, or elevate your career.
Learn Ealing offers a comprehensive range of courses for adult learners at every skill level, from beginners to advanced. This year’s curriculum focuses on skills development, digital inclusion, employability, and wellbeing.
We met with some learners who have successfully completed professional, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and digital courses with Learn Ealing’s tutors.
’I loved the course’
Enikő Moldovan is currently looking for a new job. She has extensive work experience in the beauty industry but is exploring new horizons. She recently completed her Level 2 and Level 3 in digital skills to refresh her computer skills and improve her chances of getting office-based work.
Enikő shared her experience of enrolling onto the Learn Ealing course. She said: “I loved this course. My teacher’s expertise made a significant difference in my understanding of the topic, breaking down technicalities and making them easy to understand.”
‘I feel comfortable with my teacher’
Tania Ortiz arrived in the United Kingdom as an asylum seeker and has been granted refugee status. She was born in Honduras and did not speak any English when she arrived. She found the ESOL course improved her self-confidence in both speaking and writing English.
“I love coming to classes because I feel super comfortable with my teacher,” she told us. “She is super friendly and understanding, and she has a lot of patience to teach. I like everything she has taught us, and apart from that she has also taken us to places for walks and tourism. It has been incredible to spend time with all my classmates. I have learned many things that I did not know before.”
Training for good jobs
Councillor Kamaljit Nagpal, the council’s cabinet member for decent living incomes, said: “We want more of our residents to fulfil their potential, gain knowledge and skills, and be in a position to compete for new or even better work.
“One of our main goals in our plan for good jobs is to deliver 12,000 qualification and training programmes by 2026, and Learn Ealing’s new curriculum offer is just one way we are doing that.
