If you are a bride-to-be, then Acton could be the place to go in the next couple of weeks because a special pop-up shop is promising to offer you a dazzling selection of dresses to browse, and advice for your big day.
As we reported in February, an empty shop unit next to the George and Dragon pub (185 High Street, Acton W3 9DJ) has been taken over for six months as a pop-up shop, thanks to a partnership between the pub and Ealing Council.
The Wonderland Collective kicked things off, bringing together the best of local designers and other creative businesses – and also hosting a series of shopping evenings called Ealing Bites which included short talks and practical demonstrations on various topics.
Next in the pop-up shop is a bridal wear outfit, Kate Edmondson Bridal Couture Pop-Up, showcasing a range of designer wedding dresses and bridal hair accessories. It was due to open up to the public today (Monday, 22 May).
The business owner Kate Edmondson said: “We are extremely excited to be taking part in the pop-up shop initiative. It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase our product and services and to connect with our local customers.
“In terms of brand awareness having the shop front is amazing to display our wedding dresses and we really intend to make the most of it. We look forward to opening our doors to all the lovely local brides and to sharing with them our expertise and advice.
“Our doors open on 22 May and stay open until 4 June and we look forward to meeting everyone.”
The pop-up shop is one of a number of initiatives forming part of the council’s Acton High Street Fund Programme, which is being paid for through the Mayor of London’s High Street Fund and New Homes Bonus.
