Vaccine at Dominion Centre

Young people are getting their vaccine in Ealing

The majority of young people (18 – 29 year-olds) in Ealing have had their vaccine.

Young people are continuing to get their vaccine by walking up to local pharmacies or CP House, so that they can protect themselves against COVID-19.

The best way of staying safe against COVID-19 is to get vaccinated and to continue to get tested regularly, so you know if you are carrying the virus or not.

Councillor Josh Blacker, cabinet member for healthy lives said: “It is now easier than ever to get a vaccine, you can walk-up to a number of local pharmacies and get your jab. No ID? No NHS number? No problem.

“Everyone should be getting their jab as it is the best way of protecting yourself and others from COVID-19, but my main message today is for young people. We’re now at the point where the majority of 18-29 year-olds have had their vaccine, so why not join them?

“If you have already had yours, please encourage others to do the same. Let’s Keep Ealing safe.”

Earlier this year we met with a number of young people who spoke about why they would be getting the vaccine.

Helping yourself and helping others

Monzir, 19, has been vaccinated.

Monzir is 19 and used to work at the Dominion Centre, when it was a vaccination centre. He said: “If you get it … and you go out with your friends, you have less risk of catching COVID-19. Also, some people don’t go out because they are worried about the elderly, they have people in their family with underlying health conditions. So, what you are actually doing is not only helping yourself, but you are helping those around you as well.”

Encourage others to get theirs

Why not let people you love know how easy it is to get a vaccine? Let them know why they should get one.

We are asking anyone of the ages of 18 – 29 to share a video or picture of themselves explaining why they are getting the vaccine.

  • What are the main reasons you are getting the vaccine?
  • What will it mean for you?
  • What would you say to your friends who are unsure?

Please share on as many of the following social media platforms as possible using the #GetYourJabEaling
